Thanks to everyone who played and to the Willowwood Golf Course for hosting this event for the Library yet another year. Over the course of many years, money raised with the help of Willowwood golfers has been used to increase the Library’s endowment fund, pay for the installation of an elevator and renovation of the 3rd floor of the library and to purchase a new bookmobile. This year the funds raised at this annual golf tournament will go into a fund that will be used to replace the windows at the library. Those windows are over 100 years old – the Library was built in 1921. They are big and elegant and let in a lot of light but they are rusted and leaking and in order to protect our elegant and very much needed Library they must be replaced at an estimated cost of approximately $176,000. The $4,000 plus raised by the Golf Tournament will be a valuable and welcome addition to a growing savings account that will be used for that purpose.
