Some of you will know my face, but not my name. Others will recognize my name, but not be able to put a face with it. Please allow me to put the two together for you.
My name is Jackie Jeffries Farley, and I am a 2022 candidate for the office of County Clerk. I am the daughter of Bill and Patty Jeffries, and the late Jet Sampson Jeffries of Hinton. I married Jimmy Farley, a Madam’s Creek boy, and the former owner of Farley Masonry. He is now a Bus Operator for Summers County Schools. We are the parents of a son, Sam, who will enter Summers County Middle School in the fall.
I graduated from Hinton High School and earned a BS degree in Communications, with a Concentration in Broadcasting from Concord University. I went on to spend 20 years in the television industry, working at WVNS-TV and West Virginia Public Broadcasting. For the last four years, I have served as the manager of the Ritz Historic Theatre. I am also a former member the Summers County Board of Education.
In addition to nearly 25 years of experience in working with the public, during my career, I have been a Jackie of all trades. I have held managerial positions in promotions, programming, public relations, and news. My duties have included the creation and implementation of departmental budgets, hiring and managing of staff, assisting in contract negotiations with vendors and syndicators, planning and organizing special events, writing copy for press releases and newspapers, and managing the day-to-day operations of a business. I have handled customer calls and complaints, recruited volunteers for projects, mediated disputes, and handled the many unique issues that come up day to day when working with the public, all while extolling the beauty of Hinton and Summers County to tourists.
I believe my unique skill set would be an asset to the office of County Clerk, and I would love the opportunity to prove that. I would appreciate your vote on May 10th and November 2nd.
