PHILLIPS
Billy Dwayne Phillips, 64, of Pipestem, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022 at his home following a long illness.
Born May 3, 1957 in Hinton, he was the son of the late William “Bill” and Mary Jane Gwinn Phillips.
Billy was a 1976 graduate of Hinton High School. He was a truck driver and former employee of CSX Transportation Corporation. He was a member of New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Hinton and enjoyed watching TV and fishing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Anita Richmond Phillips; one son, Andrew Phillips of Pipestem; two daughters, Hilary Phillips and Windy Phillips, both of Pipestem; one brother, James Phillips and wife, Evelyn of Meadow Bridge, WV; one sister, Shirlene Smith and husband, Jerry of Christiansburg, VA; sister-in-law, Dale Ann Richmond of Princeton; brother-in-law, Perry Richmond and wife, Karmin of Princeton; nieces, Jenna Gilmore of Charleston, SC, Angie Butler and husband, Chris of Pipestem; nephews, James Phillips and wife, Barbie of Danese, WV, Brandon Smith of Christiansburg, VA, Corey Yancey and wife, Desiree of Harrisonburg, VA, Nick Cooper and wife, Wendy of Winfield, WV, and Erich Gill and wife, Victoria of Hinton.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Eddie Crews officiating. Burial followed in Elk Knob Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends could call from 12 p.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Family members served as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
