When basketball season concludes, members of the West Virginia Sports Writers Association vote players onto all-state teams. Multiple media outlets publish the list of players who received all-state honors. Summers County consistently has excellent representation on this list. This year, three Lady Bobcats have been honored.

Sophomore Gracie Harvey received Class AA Second Team All-State. Harvey is a post player for the Lady Bobcats and was one of the highest scorers all season.

Senior Maggie Stover and Junior Sully Pivont received Class AA All-State Honorable Mention. Stover commented on receiving all-state honors at the end of her senior season.

“I am beyond thankful for the recognition, but I wouldn’t be the player I am today without my team,” said Stover.

The announcement for Class AA Boys Basketball All-State Teams will come within the next few weeks.
