Robert Kenneth Bragg, 77, of Jumping Branch died Sunday, December 5, 2021 surrounded by his family at the home of his daughter.

Born February 14, 1944 at Winding Gulf, he was the son of the late Cyrus and Ethel Smith Bragg. Robert spent most of his life in the Ellison Ridge area of Summers County.

He was a retired brick and block mason and a member of the Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local No. 9 since 1972. Robert was a graduate of Hinton High School, Class of 1962. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and listening to bluegrass music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth “Gene” Bragg in 2013; and brothers, Cletis Bragg, Landon Bragg, and Gerald Bragg. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Loretta “Sue” Arthur Bragg at home; daughter, Sandra Farley and husband, Harold of Coal City; grandson, Robert “Robbie” Farley of Coal City; and a granddaughter, Stacy Duncan and husband, Andrew of Fairmont.

The family would like to thank the CL Cancer Center, Dr. Khanna, Nicole Linzy, Dr. Shimm, radiation department, chemo nurses, and Hospice of Southern West Virginia for their care.

Donations of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia.

In keeping with Robert’s wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no services.

Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
