Johnson Found Guilty Of First Degree Murder

A Summers County jury found Anthony DeVaughan Johnson of Ohio guilty of first-degree murder without mercy. Johnson was convicted of killing Thomas Sanford II in December of 2018 during an argument in a mobile home in Meadow Creek. Johnson was escorted by Summers Sheriff Justin Faris out of the courtroom on Friday afternoon following the five-day trial in district court in Hinton. Jury deliberation lasted less than an hour.
