The Summers County Planning Commission held its first meeting of the year on Wednesday, March 17. The meeting took place via Zoom.
Because it had been an extended period of time since the last meeting, the primary goal of this meeting was to refresh the members of the commission on issues for consideration.
The primary topic of discussion was the continuing business of building codes for the county. As it currently stands, there are no property maintenance codes for property owners in Summers County.
The commission unanimously voted to get a copy of the International Property Maintenance Code in the hands of all commissioners to review before making a recommendation regarding adopting the code or something similar in the county.
Once the commission has had time to review the code, the topic will be revisited at the next meeting. If they decide to recommend the code, it will then go before the county commission for review and decision.
