As promised, the second Adam’s Gotta Stop opened in Hinton this week in its newest location on Stokes Drive on schedule.
Renovations are nearly complete and a few other major elements are still to go, but the “now open” hand-held invitation signaled the Hinton’s newest business has opened its doors with a glimpse into the future of what the business will eventually offer.
“We are still awaiting delivery of our ‘Broasted Chicken’ equipment, but all is in place for its arrival,” said John Adams Gilbert, a young entrepreneur with big plans for his new location along a busy commercial strip of traffic.
Demonstrating improvements still in the works, and those already in place, Gilbert shared the most modern version of the new grease pit required for fried chicken operations he plans to have up and running “hopefully by the middle of the month.”
A large part of his anticipated business activity will be offering freshly made pressure-cooked and deep-fried chicken, hot and ready morning ‘til night.
The next project, well underway, Gilbert said, is his creative vision for the “beer barn” where a big walk-in refrigerated room will display a selection of cold brew. While work continues on that project, Gilbert and staff are pleased to offer a slushy flashback to younger years with a ‘Slush Puppie’ dispenser.
“Slush puppies were always a big deal around here growing up,” said Gilbert.
As a matter of convenience, Gilbert anticipates many of his present customers will appreciate the closer proximity for things like seasonal items for gardening, plants, mulch, and year-round access for feed of all kinds. One full room of the new business in the old “Pop’s” is stacked full of every kind of animal feed, from corn and sweet feed for equines and bovines to large bags of food for canines, felines, poultry and rabbits.
