One of the most difficult tasks of the current pandemic has been ensuring children are still able to get an education. Many months have been spent with only remote learning as an option.
Even as children have been allowed back into their schools, there have been restrictions to contend with. Wearing a mask, keeping a distance from other students, not being able to have lunch with friends.
The principal at Hinton Area Elementary, Angela Gumm along with her staff and local businesses decided to help ease the stress of the school year by providing gifts for the students.
Students who attended in-person classes at Hinton Area Elementary got a special treat. Businesses from around the county as well as World Vision teamed up to donate toys and items for the students to receive as Christmas gifts. Items included in the gifts were small toys, fleece blankets, hand sanitizer, candy canes and more.
