NOTICE OF PROPOSED

CONVEYANCE OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY

(Mt. Zion UNITED METHODIST CHURCH)

Notice is hereby given that Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after June 3, 2026 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to Steve R. Pack, all of their right, title and interest in and to the following described lot or parcel of land, lying in Greenbrier District, Summers County, West Virginia, and bounded and described as follows, to-wit:

PARCEL ONE

BEGINNING at a stone originally corner of Church lot S. 9 W. 242 feet to a stone, S. 78 E. 250 feet to a post corner of fence N. 27 E. 174 feet to center of road, N. 62 W. 275 feet with road to the place of the BEGINNING, containing one and one-fourth acre, more or less, and it is meant by this conveyance to increase the size of the said original church lot to the outer dimensions given above. Said lot is located on Zion Mountain in Greenbrier District, Summers County, West Virginia.

And being the same property conveyed from Mrs. Sarah E. Foster and E. H. Foster, her husband to Trustees of the Mount Zion Methodist Episcopal Church, by Deed dated February 12, 1938 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Summers County, West Virginia in Deed Book 68, at page 361, reference to which is hereby made.

PARCEL TWO

A STRIP OF LAND 10 feet wide, more or less, on the east, south and west sides of the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery as enclosed by a new fence erected during 1984.

And being the same property conveyed to the Board of Trustees of the Mt. Zion Church by Deed dated December 18, 1984 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 150, at Page 199, reference to which is hereby made.

Said Mt. Zion United Methodist Church was closed effective November 21, 2024 by resolution of a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.
