ALDERSON W.Va. (Hinton News) – Alderson Main Street’s Open Mic at the Depot ended its fourth season on Saturday, September 6th at the historic 1896 C&O train depot in Alderson.

Over twenty musicians and supporters enjoyed a potluck meal, then entertained each other with a variety of musical styles. Event organizer Marcia Sutherland reflected on the variety of instruments this season, including electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, ukulele, trombone, accordion, harmonica, and a cappella voice. She also noted the variety of genres, including country, rock, blues, jazz, swing, bluegrass, newgrass, gospel, opera, English/Scot/Irish ballads and drinking songs, and folk.

Plans are underway to present something new for the 2026 season, which will start in May. Stay tuned to Alderson Main Street and Alderson WV Music Scene Facebook pages in March for updates.
