SUMMERS COUNTY W.Va. (Hinton News) – Geoff Jones is a candidate for Summers County Magistrate, Division 2. Geoff and his wife Renae (Brandon) Jones, have raised three sons, Logan, Levi, and Lawson in Summers County.

Geoff is a graduate of Talcott High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Concord College. Geoff, a former Summers County Deputy Sheriff and a graduate of the West Virginia State Police Academy has long envisioned returning to public service for the citizens of his community.

Geoff has been employed by the nation’s largest home and auto insurance company, State Farm for the last 38 years. His career as an Insurance Fraud Investigator in a Special Investigative Unit makes him a perfect candidate for the Magistrate position. During this time, he attained a Certified Fire Investigator designation from the International Association of Arson Investigators. Geoff has investigated a wide variety of fraud including arson, staged accidents, and falsified theft while working alongside numerous corporate defense attorneys to perform examinations under oath.

Geoff is an involved and supportive member of the Summers County community, where he has lived for most of his life. For 13 years, Geoff served as a volunteer and coach for the Hinton Little League organization. As his sons grew up, he was very involved in the schools, serving on Parent Teacher Organizations, and supporting school events, fundraisers, and athletic teams. Geoff still enjoys supporting our local schools and students by attending fundraisers, making donations, and supporting our county’s athletic teams. Geoff attends First Baptist Church in Hinton where his eldest son, Logan, serves as the head of youth ministries.

The magistrate position is non-partisan and requires impartiality. Geoff will be a Magistrate that calls it like he sees it, no matter who you are. Geoff would remain impartial and seriously consider arguments from both sides.

Geoff is a Christian and holds traditional conservative views. His faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has been a guiding force through many chapters of his life.  Geoff recognizes the importance of moral integrity and compassion and will apply both of these principles to his role as magistrate. Geoff appreciates the values that have made our nation strong and will work tirelessly to safeguard the interests of all while upholding the law.

Geoff and his family would appreciate your support and vote this May! Help bring a new perspective to the Magistrate position.
