HINTON W.Va. (Hinton News) – The Friends of the Summers County Public Library successfully completed their #SilverForSpyro campaign to raise funds for a new tank for the library mascot, Spyro, a bearded dragon. The fundraiser asked families and students to collect coins to donate with the March goal of $900, but the donations brought in over $1000.

The new tank arrived and was assembled by Chuck and Sherry Gwinn. Spyro moved into his new home and while he was a little weirded out by all the new space and fresh sand, caretakers expect him to adjust soon.

Stop by and congratulate him on his new digs. The money not spent on the tank will be put into the pot for the next Friends fundraiser, which is new shelving for part of the collection.
