SUMMERS COUNTY W.Va. (Hinton News) – The Hinton Area Foundation makes discretionary and field-of-interest grants to charitable organizations in the areas of Education, the Arts, Beautification for the Hinton/Summers County area, Health and Human Services, Public Recreation, and Other eligible needs. This year, award recipients received a combined total of just over $41,000.

The Community Impact Grant is the first grant cycle of the year, followed by Making A Difference and Learning Innovation Mini-Grants (fall grant cycles). 2024 CIG recipients will use funds to support local school athletics, community food distribution, animal rescue and adoption, upcoming community activities, local foster care, and more.

Executive Director, Scott Jarrett, credits the Board of Directors for the Foundation’s ability to fund various organizations year after year. “I’ve never worked with a more involved group of individuals”, Jarrett stated in his opening remarks.
