HINTON W.Va. (Hinton News) – The Summers County Lady Bobcats put on a dominant display on Tuesday night, Feb. 20, crushing the Bluefield Beavers 54-20 in the opening round of the sectional tournament. The win propelled them to the championship game, which they played on Thursday, Feb. 22.
From the tip-off, the Lady Bobcats were in control, setting the pace with a stifling defense and efficient offense. Their lead ballooned throughout the game, leaving Bluefield with little hope of mounting a comeback. By the final buzzer, the scoreboard reflected a commanding 34-point victory for Summers County.
