War Ridge Free Will Baptist Church Held Christmas Play

WAR RIDGE W.Va. (Hinton News) – The War Ridge Free Will Baptist Church held its Christmas Play on Dec. 15, 2023. The play was an adaptation of the play “What Child Is This?” Pictured are Mary, Joseph and the shepherds: Mary and Joseph were played by Faye and Shawn Mann, and the shepherds were played by Dennis Galford, Havyn Salmons, Hunter Mann (sheep), Devin Matney and Grant Fox. Organizers said, “Our play told the story of what we know happened and what might have happened on that very special night when Jesus our Lord and Savior was born.”

Some of the other players can be seen in their various costumes in the pictures. The angels were Brooke Fox, Makenna Mann and Hailey Matney, Susan Fox, Betty Richmond and Laura Rand. The three wise men were Rex Cyphers, Tommy Webb and Cecil Fox. Finally, the wiseman’s household included his servant Lisa Madison-Howell, the wiseman’s wife, Betty Richmond, and the wiseman, Rex Cyphers.

At the end of the Christmas program, the audience joined the cast for refreshments at the church fellowship hall. Organizers stated, “We wish to thank everyone who came out and made our program a success. The War Ridge Free Will Baptist Church is the only church on War Ridge Road; our address is 3134 War Ridge Road, Wayside. Our Sunday services are: Sunday School, at 10 a.m. with Worship Service at  11 and Sunday Evening Service at 6 p.m.  Wednesday evening Bible Study and Kid’s Club start at 7 p.m.  We hope to see you there.”
