ALDERSON W.Va. (Hinton News) – There will be a family-friendly New Year’s Eve fireworks display in Alderson on Dec. 31 at 7:30 p.m.  This marvelous display is best viewed from the Alderson Memorial Bridge and there is plenty of parking on either side of the Greenbrier River.

Produced by the Alderson Volunteer Fire Department and sponsored by the Town of Alderson and Alderson Main Street, these fireworks are supported by a grant from the James F. B. Peyton Foundation.

The event will be held earlier this year, at 7:30 p.m., so families can bring even the youngest children and enjoy a wonderful show before putting them to bed. The Morgan Meadows Farm Store, in the Renaissance building on the Greenbrier County side of the Greenbrier River, will offer hot dogs, hot drinks, and more for purchase from 6-8. Please bring your own chair.

Fireworks cannot be seen if the weather is wet or snowy. In the case of inclement weather, the fireworks display will be rescheduled to a later date. Please check the Alderson Main Street Facebook page for the announcement of any changes.  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063621247799.

Happy New Year from the Alderson Volunteer Fire Department, the Town of Alderson, and Alderson Main Street.
