ATLANTA (WVDN) – Humanitarian, mental health advocate and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter has passed away at the age of 96. She spent 77 years of her life married to former President Jimmy Carter and achieved many incredible accomplishments during her life.

According to The Carter Center, the activist passed away at her home in Plains, Georgia, on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2:10 p.m. She is survived by her children Jack, Jeff, Amy and Chip, along with 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A tribute website has been established, which will serve as the family’s condolence book. Leave a note at www.rosalynncartertribute.org. The schedule for memorial events will be available soon.
