SUMMERS COUNTY W.Va. (Hinton News) – As in the past, people in Summers County will be delivering free Thanksgiving dinners to those people who request them.
This year, orders can be placed by calling 304-660-7073 or emailing ascensionepiscopalhinton@gmail.com. No orders can be accepted after the last day of October. If you wish to place an order, we must know your name, address, phone number, number of meals you want and any special instructions for delivery.
Hot meals are prepared by the Community Center in Oakhill. They make the turkey and dressing, green beans and mashed potatoes. Those meals are picked up and brought to Hinton, where we add a roll, cranberry sauce and desert.
And that is where organizers need help. Any church, individual or group who would like to provide part of these foods would be greatly appreciated. Call or text Nancy at 304-860-9446 for questions or to volunteer.
Organizers will also need people to deliver the meals on the Thursday of Thanksgiving. It is a great time of year to celebrate our blessings and we can do that by sharing them with others. Thank you for your generosity.
