HINTON, (Hinton News) – The Friends of the Summers County Public Library have announced plans to resume their popular Spring Salad Luncheon event to be held on April 21, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St Patrick’s Church, Temple St., Hinton. This will be the first Salad Luncheon post the COVID pandemic.

As in past years, the meal will consist of a variety of three (3) salads, cake, bread and bottled water. The cost will be $10.00.  You may eat in the church or have your meal delivered.

During the week of April 14, members of the Friends will visit local businesses with a flyer detailing the above information and will be accepting pre-orders at that time. Orders may also be placed by calling the Library at (304) 466-4490.

During the COVID lockdown, the Library had to cancel several of its most popular fundraisers and is very pleased to be able to once again offer this particular delightful event!  All funds raised will benefit the Library. Current needs include window repairs and a new outside paint job. Funds will also go to help support some of the special programs that are so very popular within the community such as the upcoming summer reading program.

Finally, the Friends are always hoping for new members to help meet the challenges of supporting a full-time library in a small community. If you would like to volunteer, please call the Library for more information on becoming a Friend!
