HINTON, (Hinton News) – This candlelight service is based on Mark’s account of the final events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus.

After a passage of scripture is read, a meditation suggests how our own behaviors, attitudes, and temptations can be similar to those who betrayed Jesus. The candles are extinguished during the service symbolic of the gathering darkness, yet ending with a glimmer of hope. This service was written by Stephen Doughty, a Presbyterian pastor.

You are invited to join in this solemn worship on Good Friday, April 7 at 7 p.m. Ascension is located at the corner of 5th and Temple, across from the old Middle School.
