WESTFALL
Ethel M. “Nan” Westfall, 93, of Hinton, went to Heaven to be with Pop, Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Bowers Hospice House, following a long illness.
Born January 7, 1930, in Scarbro, WV, she was a daughter of the late Leroy Dink and Bessie Drew Ward.
Nan was a former cook at Hinton Dairy Queen. She was a member of Brooks Baptist Church. Nan also donated her time to the Bobcat Boosters, Hinton Little League, and Light of the World Christian Day Camp. She was very active in the community and never met a stranger. Nan loved cooking. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Nan was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Westfall; five sisters, Madeline Flynn, Nellie Plumley, Dorothy Carson, Louise Carson, and Elizabeth Neely; and four brothers, Johnny, Sam, Roy, and Bobby Ward.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Chuck Westfall and wife, Kay, of Hinton and Retired Major David Westfall and wife, Edith Ann, of Killeen, TX; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and best friend, Granny Ruth Noel.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Robbie Merritt and Michael Bockarie officiating. Burial will follow in the Fox Cemetery at Brooks. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral parlors.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Westfall, Coty Martin, Bryce Martin, Ryan Martin, John Plumley, and John Hawkins. Honorary pallbearers are Melvin Plumley, Micheal Lynch, Mason Jones, Leroy “Soapy” Farley, B.B. Angell, and Chuck Gwinn.
