HINTON, (Hinton News) – Kristina Kellan, the newly appointed director of the Summers County Public Library, was recognized at a reception held in her honor at the Library Thursday, February 16.

Kris grew up in Summers County and has been a library user and lover since she was a tiny girl coming to story hour. As she grew older, she volunteered and participated in the library’s teenage book discussion group. Almost 10 years ago, she was hired as the youth coordinator for the Library and was in charge of bookmobile services, story hours, summer reading programs, and all the other wonderful programs offered for the young at the Library. Kris has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Valley College.

Benji Farley, President of the Summers County Library Board of Directors, in remarks made at the reception said he and the other members of the Board were delighted that someone with Kris’s –qualification and obvious love for and knowledge of the Library was available and willing to accept the responsibility of directing the Summers County Public Library.
