CHARLESTON, (Hinton News) – Senator Randy Smith, Republican from the 14th District, was presented the West Virginia Farm Bureau’s Legislative Service Award during the “Taste of West Virginia” Banquet on January 30, 2023. The banquet highlighted farm products from throughout the state of West Virginia and followed “A Day at the Legislature,” a feature event of the organization. Hundreds of farmers from within the Farm Bureau membership, together with FFA members from across the state descended upon the Capitol building to meet with their delegates and senators to discuss legislative priorities as it relates to Farm Bureau policy.
This year’s Legislative Service Award is only the third such distinction given to a legislator by the Farm Bureau. Randy Smith has shown amazing loyalty and dedication to all matters relating to Farm Bureau and its policy and is a member of both the Future Farmers of America Alumni Association and the West Virginia Farm Bureau. Randy currently resides in Thomas, West Virginia with his wife Patty.
