Obituary: Mary Frances Huffman, 93

HUFFMAN

Mary Frances Huffman, 93, formerly of Hinton, passed away on November 4, 2022, at Carroll Luthern Village, in Westminister, MD.

Mary was born in Hinton, WV, March 26, 1929. She was the daughter of the late George E. Allen, and Ethel L. Turner Allen.

She graduated from Hinton High School, and soon married her dear husband, Ray Huffman, and later when they moved to Randallstown, MD. She continued her education and graduated from Towson State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Education. She and Ray were married for 65 years, before he passed away in 2014. She and Ray were both members of the First Baptist Church of Hinton, and in later years, when they lived in Maryland, attended Westminster Baptist and Colonial Baptist and were faithful members. In their retired years, they returned to Hinton to live, and they once again returned to the First Baptist Church, and continued there as long as their health permitted.

She loved her family and also her animals, and especially the two Rovers, King Rover and Prince Rover. She also loved her job of teaching children.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Randy and husband, Dan Clark, of Towson, MD; two daughters, Rae Anne Sparrow and husband, Warren, of Westminster, MD, and Linda Huffman and her husband, Gerard Albright, of Sykesville, MD; three brothers, Donald Allen of Stuarts Draft, VA, John Allen, and wife, Julia, of True, WV, Denzil Allen and wife, Susie, of Cincinnati, OH; and one sister, Audrey Ciriaco and husband, Luis, of Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren, David Sparrow (Julia) and Adam Sparrow (Alex) and Kyle (Kate), Jessica Katz (Paul Hull), and Sammie Albright (Steven Nguyen); and 3 great-grandchildren, Cody Grout, Drake Hull, and Freddie Sparrow, also survive. She has many nieces and nephews surviving. She was very loved, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held at the Pivont Funeral Chapel, on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Ronnie Cobb officiating. Friends may call from 12 p.m. until time of the service on Friday. Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Hinton.
