We can recall a judicial statement over 2,000 years ago when Pilate was presented with a decision regarding judgment on a man named Jesus Christ of Nazareth, he said “What is Truth?”
This question, “What is truth?” continues to be asked by us as individuals, and our judicial system.
Even when scientific proof shows evidence of a Truth, it can be denied and distorted. Basic truths are: 1) A fetus shows a heartbeat at 18 days from conception. 2) Brain wave activity as early as 40 days from conception.
The truth is that this fetus is actually “human” with a name presented medically in utero as “fetus”. We later identify this life as “baby” when in our arms. Human life begins at the conception of cellular structure and design from our Master Creator; encapsulated life with the imprints of years to come!
Indeed, Health care at one time was and is considered preservation of life.
Yet, whether we are making decisions in our homes, schools, government, medically, or the back of the pew; we must look at Truth.
Mother Teresa said it best: “It is poverty to decide a child must die so that you may live as you wish. If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other”. There must be Truth again, morally and scientifically, to provide the best care and direction for our future. How we stand on issues of life and death will affect our blessings of what we will reap in WV, in every area. The prosperous future of our residents in West Virginia will depend on this definition of, What is Truth? How will you stand for Truth?
