WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. (Hinton News) — Seniors in the Gary E. West College of Business at West Liberty University scored an average of 19 points higher than other business schools on the Peregrine Outbound Exam taken last fall, and even better at the end of the spring term.
At the end of their senior year, West College of Business students take this national exam evaluating their knowledge on 13 core business administration topics, including accounting, finance, management and marketing. This examination is used to assess the proficiency of business school graduates across the country and provides ranking data on participating institutions.
“WLU seniors did exceptionally well in these last two semesters, ranking among the top 2/3 in the country. Not only does this provide proof of the rigor of our academic programs but also the level of excellence in instruction provided by our faculty. We are extremely proud of this accomplishment by both the faculty and students here at West Liberty University,” said Dr. Ann Saurbier, Dean of the West College of Business and resident of Wheeling.
For those business students considering pursuing a graduate degree, such as the Master of Business Administration (MBA), successful completion of the Peregrine Outbound Assessment in their senior year can be used as part of their overall portfolio as they apply to graduate school.
Programs offered by WLU’s Gary E. West College of Business include: Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Entrepreneurship, Finance, General Business, Healthcare Management, Management (General), Marketing, Sport Management and Zoo Management. The West College of Business also offers a MBA degree, both online and in-seat.
