PLUMLEY
Freddie Amos Plumley, 81, of Hinton, passed away Sunday, June 26th, 2022, at Main Street Care in Hinton, following a brief illness.
Born July 25th, 1940 at McCreery, WV, he was the son of the late J. Amos and Nellie M. Ward Plumley.
Freddie was a graduate of Hinton High School and was a paint contractor. He was a former member of the Army National Guard and was of the Baptist faith. Freddie loved to hunt and fish, as long as his health permitted. He also enjoyed going to shooting matches. He was a lifelong resident of Summers County.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Adkins Plumley in 2017. Also preceded by one brother, Tommy R. Plumley; one sister, Norma Plumley Willett; and one nephew, Tommy Reagan Plumley.
Survivors include one brother, J. Melvin Plumley, and wife, Vivian Plumley of Hinton; two brothers-in-law, Jim Willett of Punta Gorda, FL, and Estell Adkins of Hinton; one sister-in-law, Betty Young Adkins of Hinton; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the Fox Cemetery at Brooks with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. There will be no visitation. Those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
