Charleston, (W.Va.) – AMFM Nursing & Rehabilitation Centers will recognize National Skilled Nursing Care Week from May 8 to 14 with dozens of events throughout West Virginia. The company invites the public to partake in the observance, which kicks off on Mother’s Day, by visiting a friend or family member in a facility and participating in local activities.
NSNCW, formerly known as National Nursing Home Week, was established by the American Health Care Association in 1967 to recognize the essential role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America’s elders and individuals with disabilities. This year’s theme, “Creating and Nurturing Connections,” celebrates skilled nursing centers, their residents and staff.
“National Skilled Nursing Care Week is a fun and exciting week for our residents and staff, but it’s also an important time to recognize the special role each center plays in their respective communities,” said Jennifer Gardner, AMFM Social Media & Communications Manager. “Our nursing centers and staff are committed to our mission of quality care for our patients, their families and the areas in which they serve. We encourage everyone to call their local centers to learn about the events planned.”
Events will take place at each of AMFM’s 19 centers in 18 counties throughout the state. The care centers are located in Braxton, Boone, Cabell, Clay, Fayette, Hardy, Harrison (Clarksburg & Bridgeport), Greenbrier, Lincoln, Mason, Marshall, McDowell, Mercer, Summers, Taylor, Wayne, Webster, and Wyoming counties.
