ADKINS

William H. Adkins “Buddy”, 67, of Magnolia, Delaware went home to be with the Lord on November 7, 2021 following a long illness.

Born in Meadow Bridge, WV, he was a son of the late Ernest and Arbutus Osborne Adkins. Buddy retired from the United States Navy and continued to serve as a United States Merchant Marine prior to his illness. He enjoyed watching sports to include his beloved Mountaineers, Raiders, and Red Wings. However, his greatest joy in life was watching his grandchildren grow and maneuver through each day.

Buddy was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Adkins; and a sister, Eliza Bolt.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Brian Adkins of Norfolk, VA; his daughter, Teleah Windsor and husband, Keith of Magnolia, DE; four grandchildren, Brandon, Logan, Liam, and McKinley; and four siblings, Danny “Bozo” Adkins, Lois “Jean” Ward, Ramona Bolt, and Paula Cawley.

Following Buddy’s wishes, there will be a Naval Burial at Sea. The military honors ceremony will be held on a deployed naval vessel, then a memorial stone placed at Alington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.

The family is remembering Buddy with contributions in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
