HURST
Jerry W. Hurst, 78, of Williamstown, WV, left this world to join his wife, Judy, in a more peaceful place on January 13, 2022, while at home surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born on May 7, 1943 in True, WV to the late Watson and Dolly Hurst. He was a 1960 graduate of the old Hinton High School. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served four years as a Military Policeman (MP) in Germany and France. He attended night school, while working, to obtain his bachelor’s degree from Morris Harvey College, Charleston, WV. He worked as an Adjuster and Claims Manager for Nationwide Insurance for many years, until his retirement. He married Judy K. Houchins of Pipestem, WV in December 1965, and they spent 55 wonderful years together. He enjoyed all sorts of hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, gardening, watching sports, and the occasional Natural Light.
Jerry is survived by one sister, Sandra (Homer) Crews; daughter, Vicki McIntosh; son, Brian (Angie) Hurst; daughter, Melissa (David) Wright; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Barbara; and a brother, Larry Farley.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to hospice nurse “Jen” who helped care for both their mom and dad.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place without any public service.
