HANNAH
Rosalie “Rose” Hannah, 87, of Nimitz went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 26, 2021 at her home following a long journey and battle with Alzheimer’s.
Born July 5, 1934 at Ellison, she was a daughter of the late Richard Lee and Hettie Jane Lilly Pack.
Rose was a former employee of Hughes Aircraft in California, where she worked as a secretary to the Vice President of the company. Rose was a homemaker and a caregiver who loved flower gardening, cooking, and sewing. She was a member of the Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church and wife of the pastor. Rose was faithful and supporting of his ministry, while creating a ministry of her own, putting together John & Romans books for the mission field, teaching piano and Sunday school. It was always her intention, and she was well known for being an advocate for all children.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Flossie Gross, Bernice Shuck, Iva Lee Williams, Mattie Reed; and two infant great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 71 years, Pastor Donald L. Hannah; four children, Teresa Wallace and husband, Jeb of Fincastle, VA, Montgomery “Monty” Hannah and wife, Tina of Hinton, Jennifer Ellison and husband, Mark of Nimitz and Jonathan Hannah and wife, Peggy of Fishersville, VA; four grandchildren, Evan Ellison and wife, Megan, Matthew Ellison and wife, Brooke, Ian Hannah, and Ava Rose Hannah; two great-grandchildren, Elayna Ellison and Riley Rose Ellison; one brother, Elder Leroy Pack and wife, Beverly; three sisters, Grace Fox, Ann Kester, and Dixie Ratliff; many close friends, nieces and nephews, and church family.
Funeral services were 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church with Pastors Joe Brown and Gary Trout officiating. Burial followed in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends could call from 1:30 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the church. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
