VALLANDINGHAM
Sue Vallandingham passed away on August 22, 2021 in San Antonio, TX.
She grew up in Hinton, WV, where she was captain of the women’s high school basketball team. She married James W. Vallandingham, also of Hinton, and together they had one daughter. Sue was a dedicated Army officer’s wife, homemaker, and mother, and in later years, an adoring grandmother. She traveled the whole world, having set foot on every continent. She was an avid sports fan as well. She especially enjoyed watching college basketball and the San Antonio Spurs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers. She leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, two grandsons, two sisters and their husbands, a sister-in-law, a brother-in law and his wife, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Sue will be interred privately in Restwood Cemetery in Hinton. There will be a memorial celebration at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, St. Jude’s Hospital, local food banks, or the charity of your choice.
