GILL
Johnny R. Gill, 73, of Forest Hill passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his home following a long illness.
Born January 21, 1948 at Hinton, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Pauline Ward Gill. Johnny was a construction worker who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny Rathburn Gill Jr. and Jason Gill; sister, Belva Gill; brother, Bobby Gill; brother-in-law, Paul Thornquest; nephew, Tracey Gill; and sister-in-law, Cathy Gill.
Those left to cherish his memory include his companion, Gaye Handy; son, Johnny Ray Gill and wife, Amber; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Thornquest; brother, David “Lucky” Gill and wife, Della; and many nieces and nephews; and Bonnie Ward and Ashley Phillip.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Jim Blume officiating. Burial followed in the Sunset View Cemetery at Bozoo. Friends could call from noon until service time on Monday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
