The Summers County Bobcat Baseball team traveled to take on the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders on Tuesday, June 1 in a sectional game.
Summers County had a big second inning, scoring eight runs. Logan Fox was on the mound for the Bobcats and Gracin Price came in as a reliever. The Bobcats had a total of eleven hits, with Fox and Will Taylor leading with three apiece. Ben Lane had two hits. Maverick Harper, Brandan Isaac, Levi Jones, and Daniel Mansfield each had a hit as well. Fox had the most RBIs with three and Taylor and Levi Jones followed with two. Harper, Isaac, and Mansfield each had an RBI as well. The team stole eleven bases. Taylor and Jones stole the most with three a piece. Fox stole two and Isaac, Harper, Lane, and Sam Whittaker each stole one.
The Bobcats defeated the Crusaders 15-9 making their way into the winners bracket. The Bobcats will travel to James Monroe on Thursday.
