ASHLEY
Vivian Sears Atwell Ashley, 89, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.
Born January 9, 1932 at Brooks, she was a daughter of the late William C. and Virginia Sears.
Vivian attended the Miller Memorial United Methodist Church and Little Wolf Creek Baptist Church. She was a retired teacher’s aide for the Summers County Board of Education. Vivian enjoyed crocheting, painting, and spending time with family and friends. She was a beautiful soul. Vivian was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Theodore Atwell; second husband, Jack Ashley; one son, Danny Atwell; three brothers and two sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Alice Fleshman and husband, Richard of Alderson; special nephew, Tommy Pitzer of Shady Spring; step-daughter, Pam Young of Hinton; three granddaughters, Amanda, Susan, and Jessica; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Rev. Dr. John Sauvage officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
