MCDOWELL
Frank Boone McDowell Jr, 83, passed away on March 3, 2021.
Frank, an only child, was born on January 6, 1938 to the late Frank McDowell Sr. and Ann Jackson McDowell in Hinton, WV. Frank graduated from Hinton High School, where he played basketball during his high school years. Frank was a graduate of Eckerd College.
During his professional career as an IT Director, he worked for a myriad of companies; most notably Eastern Airlines, RJ Reynolds, and his last and most talked about contract was with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. He was extremely impressed with the professionalism and camaraderie within the Department.
Frank was an avid runner; he ran 4 marathons a year, with a total of 26 marathons completed. Frank enjoyed history and his favorite college football and basketball teams were the West Virginia Mountaineers.
On February 11, 2021, Frank and Anna celebrated their anniversary. After 65 years of marriage, he will be dearly missed by his wife, Anna McDowell; son, Frank McDowell III and his wife, Tammy McDowell; and 2 grandsons, Kyle and his wife, Emilen McDowell, and Sean McDowell.
