The Summers County Health Department began the week reporting that a 10th COVID-19 related death has occurred. Health Department Administrator Chad Meador said new cases are still presenting themselves. In Hinton and Summers County total cases now stand at 258, laboratory confirmed cases at 240, active cases 86, and the number of lives lost is now 10.
Meador reiterated rising cases are linked to community spread and workplace outbreak and, again, asks that everyone continue to wear masks, wash hands and socially distance.
