The 2020 Christmas season will soon be here and this year — more than ever — the Summers County Christmas Toy Fund Drive is asking that you show your Christmas spirit to children in need.
The fund is once again sponsoring its Annual Christmas Toy Fund Drive for 2020.
Volunteers are encouraged to play their part in the toy drive. Ways to help are:
Shop for toys at the Walmart on Eisenhower Drive in Beckley December 7 through 11.
Prepare gifts to be presented on December 12. Call Darrell Lilly at 304-466-0476 with any questions or to volunteer.
Make a tax deductible donation with a check payable to the HINTON AREA FOUNDATION (list “Christmas Toy Fund” on the memo line). Mail the donation to: Summers County Toy Fund, PO Box 67, Nimitz WV 25978.
Families living in Summers County who are in need during this Christmastime can pick up an application at the DHHR Office at City Hall in Hinton. Applications will be available starting November 1 through November 30, 2020.
The children considered for the program range in age from newborn to twelve years of age and must live in Summers County. All applications are checked to establish eligibility. Approved applicants will be notified by mail as to when the gifts will be given to the children.
Thank you, Darrell Lilly, Chairman, Summers County Christmas Toy Fund.
