As Mary Poppins sang, just a spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down.
Halloween 2020 has brought quarantines, remote learning, COVID-19 ills, missing friends, cancelled school and postponed Railroad Days, making trick-or-treating this year an overly disappointing event for children.
Perhaps treats and candy galore will brighten their moods once they return to school when they reopen in a week or so. REACHH and staff joined with volunteers and donors to sweeten the hiatus. Executive Director Doris Selko said REACHH received an outpouring of Halloween candy and have packed 648 treat bags for every enrolled elementary student in Summers County.
REACHH-FRC/CAC acknowledges the amazing sponsors of Halloween treats: Summers County ARH, Summers County Huddle, City of Hinton, Jarrell’s Exxon, Kristen Cook, Norm Richmond, Summers County Rainbow Alliance, Gabe Massie with J.L. Massie Insurance, Patty Wilson, Steve Lilly, Steve and Ann Lipscomb, The Giles Family, JC Wheeler, Sue Robbins and Brittanie Fischer.
