With a year of uncertainties and craziness at every turn, the newly elected Hinton Mayor Jack Scott has decided to try and bring some normalcy to citizens during the holiday season. The local businesses and a group of volunteers have been meeting locally to determine a plan to allow Hinton to enjoy a wonderful holiday season despite being in the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Hinton enjoyed a wonderful 2019 holiday season with new decorations and events from some revamping by the Hinton’s Hometown Holidays’ volunteers. To continue growth, the town will be decorated and prepared for a “soft opening” on Saturday, November 21. This is a day for everyone to stop in and check out what is planned for the season, plus get a jump start on shopping. We will also be providing the town with a Mistletoe Market that will have vendors set up every Saturday from Nov. 21 to Dec. 19, which will allow you to shop locally and safely during the holiday.
The official kick off for the holiday season will be Small Business Saturday on November 28 where the City will showcase its amazing, small businesses plus place numerous vendors in a variety of locations throughout town. On December 5, the City of Hinton’s Christmas Bazaar and other traditional festivities will all take place with new measures to keep everyone safe. These are just a few of the exciting things we have planned.
