Red Cross Offering Virtual Courses For Military Members, Veterans And Their Families Supporting Heroes Living Through The COVID-19 Outbreak

CHARLESTON, W.Va., Monday, September 14, 2020 — Join the American Red Cross for a series of virtual workshops. The workshops are live, interactive and virtual and is facilitated by Red Cross mental health volunteers. Participants are encouraged to share in the discussion as though they were in person together. All service members, veterans and their family members are welcome and encouraged to attend the sessions.

The goal of these workshops are to provide a safe, educational space. Participants will have an opportunity to share with others, learn and practice new skills and ask questions in a small online group. Join us on video and audio for a 90-minute conversation with a Red Cross mental health volunteer and other members of your community. The workshop topics include:

COVID19 Stress Management: A virtual workshop that teaches stress-management and relaxation techniques for service members, veterans and their families. This will be a live, facilitated discussion around the challenges of living through the COVID-19 outbreak.
Stress Solutions: A virtual workshop that teaches stress management through learning the signs of stress, practicing relaxation techniques, discussing sleep issues, learning to help others and changing the way you think about stress. It will be a live, facilitated discussion about solutions for stress.
Effective Communications: A virtual workshop that teaches the skills needed to achieve effective communication styles through non-verbal communications, seeking clarification, self-reflection, “I” statements and other activities for service members, veterans and their families.

Thursday, October 22nd at 7:00 p.m. on COVID19 Stress Management
Friday, October 30th at 1:00 p.m. on Stress Solutions
Wednesday, November 11th at 2:00 p.m. on Effective Communications
Thursday, November 12th at 7:00 p.m. on Stress Solutions
Thursday, November 19th at 7:00 p.m. on COVID19 Stress Management
Friday, November 20th at 1:00 p.m. on Stress Solutions
Thursday, December 3rd at 7:00 p.m. on COVID19 Stress Management
Friday, December 11th at 1:00 p.m. on Effective Communications
Thursday, December 17th at 7:00 p.m. on Stress Solutions
