Calhoun County, W.Va. (Hinton News) — In February of 2026, members of the West Virginia State Police Grantsville Detachment initiated an investigation into multiple burglaries throughout Calhoun County, West Virginia.

Through investigative efforts, Caleb Wayne Hart, 36, of Parkersburg, and Julie Shay Spry, 34, of Parkersburg, were identified as suspects.

On April 2, 2026, a traffic stop of a vehicle driven by Mr. Hart was conducted in Wood County, WV, resulting in the recovery of a substantial amount of stolen property.

On April 3, 2026, a search of a residence located in Parkersburg, WV, took place, resulting in the recovery of approximately $100,000 in suspected stolen property.

Mr. Hart and Mrs. Spry were arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property. Mr. Hart was arraigned and is currently being housed at North Central Regional Jail. Mrs. Spry was arraigned and released on bond.

This investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are pending.
