GLADE SPRINGS W.Va. (Hinton News) – Sheriff Frank Priddy would like to update the citizens on the following:

On February 16, 2026, deputies with the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting at the Glade Springs Guard Shack.

Upon arrival, deputies located a Glade Springs security guard suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Following an extensive investigation, Michael Lloyd Taylor, age 60, of the Piney View area, was identified as the suspect and subsequently taken into custody in connection with the incident. He has been charged with First-Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

This investigation remains ongoing.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
