HINTON W.Va. (Hinton News) – According to a criminal complaint, on Dec. 18, an officer responded to the vicinity of Summers Street in response to a report of larceny. When the officer arrived at the scene, the victims reportedly told him they had multiple items stolen from their porch at 4:40 a.m. on Dec. 17. The victims also noted they had camera footage of the theft taking place, as well as a list of the stolen items.

The officer watched the camera footage and saw a male, later identified as David Lee Terry Jr. He was reportedly wearing sweatpants, a hoodie, and a specific kind of black and white shoes. Terry can allegedly be seen on the camera footage entering the porch with his hood up. He is next viewed looking at all the different things on the porch. Then, according to the complaint, around one minute after going onto the porch, he pushes the camera up, but it still shows the doorway of the porch.

The victims gave the officer a list of more than 25 items stolen, valued at over $1063.

Later in the day, officers received information on Terry’s location. Officers went to the area indicated and found Terry wearing what appeared to be the same clothes and shoes from the video footage from the victim’s security camera. Terry allegedly had several of the items taken from the porch of the victims.

Terry has since been arrested on charges of grand larceny and breaking and entering. He was booked into Southern Regional Jail on Dec. 21, and at the time of publishing, he is still listed as an inmate with bail set at $7,500.
