HINTON W.Va. (Hinton News) – For 15 years, the McQuaigs, co-founders of Beyond Wishes Therapeutic Riding Program Inc., along with an army of volunteers, have worked with people from 5 to 95 years of age, to help them navigate life.

Beyond Wishes TRP, a local Hinton, WV 501(c)(3) non-profit business that has provided Equine Assisted Services to individuals with special needs, is closing its gates as of Dec. 31, 2025.

Equine Assisted Services (EAS) has been proven beneficial in all aspects of life. Working with horses helps individuals with disabilities develop skills that can be used in their everyday challenges they face. This program provided a happy place to come and be at one with the horse, providing calm, quiet sessions. The miniature horses visiting nursing homes, long-term care facilities, schools and libraries were very special and
close to everyone’s heart.

This has been a special journey for all involved. It took thousands of volunteer hours, many donors and grants from foundations to make this program successful. Thank you to everyone for your part.

Everyone donating to Beyond Wishes through the Kroger Community Rewards program needs to change their charity by the end of the year. If anyone has any questions, please contact the McQuaigs at 304-466-0431 or email beyondwishestrp@hughes.net.
