PIPESTEM, W.Va. (Hinton News) — West Virginia State Parks officials today announced that tickets are now available for a special dinner series previewing a new upscale menu at Mountain Creek Dining Room, which is scheduled to reopen at Pipestem Resort State Park in the spring.
The “Taste of Mountain Creek” dinner series is scheduled for the last three weekends in October and will feature an eight-course menu created by Chef Marion Ohlinger to showcase the restaurant’s refined take on Appalachian cuisine. Tickets are $94, which includes tax, gratuity, entertainment and a round-trip aerial tram ride.
“This dinner series is a wonderful opportunity to experience the culinary vision behind the new Mountain Creek Dining Room,” said Dillard Price, acting chief of West Virginia State Parks. “Guests will not only enjoy a memorable evening in a beautiful setting, but also get a taste of what’s to come when the restaurant officially reopens in the spring.”
Dinners are scheduled on Friday and Saturday during the weekends of Oct. 10-11, Oct. 17-18 and Oct. 24-25. Each weekend will feature a unique menu of locally inspired dishes, such as elk meatloaf, venison filet mignon, smoked trout fondue, sumac-rubbed ribeye and sweet potato cheesecake. Dinners start with a social at 6 p.m., followed by the meal and live music.
Seating is limited to 30 guests per dinner and tickets are expected to sell out quickly. Tickets can be purchased online at the following links:
