JUMPING BRANCH W.Va. (Hinton News) – On Friday, May 23, 2025, at approximately 1700 hours, members of the Summers County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence of Lisa Pack in Jumping Branch to serve a family court order. While deputies were explaining the contents of the court documents to the biological mother, a separate verbal altercation occurred.

During this disturbance, Ms. Lisa Pack fled the residence with the minor child. She was later picked up by Shawn Dean, also of Jumping Branch. The two then transported the minor child into Raleigh County.

A BOLO (Be On the Lookout) was issued for the suspect vehicle. Thanks to the efforts of the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was located and stopped. The minor child was recovered safely and without incident.

Lisa Pack and Shawn Dean have both been charged with Concealment or Removal of a Minor Child from Custodian, a felony offense.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the multiple agencies that assisted in this investigation. We also thank everyone who shared our alerts and helped bring this situation to a safe resolution.

– Chief Deputy T.S. Adkins
