SUMMERS COUNTY W.Va. (Hinton News) – Big Bend PSD will be performing smoke testing of sewer infrastructure located in the Pine Hill subdivision in Hilldale, West Virginia, and in Pence Springs, West Virginia Oct. 28, through Nov. 11. Smoke testing is performed in order to detect line defects and improper connections.

The smoke used for the test is not harmful to pets or plants, is nontoxic and creates no fire hazard. It will be normal to see white/grey smoke around your neighborhood during smoke testing. Do not be alarmed by this smoke, and do not call the fire department unless you see black smoke or have good reason to believe there is an actual fire to report. If you encounter a problem, you may call Big Bend PSD at 304-466-5111 or notify a worker performing the test.
