Traffic accident claims one life in Summers County Monday

JUMPING BRANCH W.Va. (Hinton News) – One man lost his life in a vehicle accident yesterday. The West Virginia State Police released the following statement:

“On Monday, August 19, 2024, at approximately 8:30 am, Corporal N.C. Boothe responded to Beech Run Road in Summers County, WV, regarding a motor vehicle crash with entrapment. Corporal Boothe, upon arrival, observed a 2020 GMC Sierra pickup truck had driven off the roadway and struck a telephone pole. Corporal Boothe discovered the driver, 65 year old Billy Joe Willey Jr. of Jumping Branch, WV was deceased. Mr. Willey was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Charleston, WV for an autopsy. This motor vehicle crash investigation remains active and ongoing.”
